Privacy policy

NBS respects your right to privacy. The Policy below relates to your identification data and how we use it. It also deals with other important topics related to your privacy.

NBS’s Internet Privacy Policy

NBS’s policy obeys all laws related to the protection of privacy and related data. This commitment reflects the value that we place on obtaining and maintaining the confidence of our employees, clients, business partners and others with whom we share data.

This Internet Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how NBS protects your privacy when your data is captured on our website. The expression "personal data" as it is used in this Policy refers to data that can identify an individual by itself or in conjunction with other information to which we have access.

This Policy applies in general to all the websites operated by NBS or in its name as well as those of its business units (each of these counts as an “NBS Website").

Declarations and Website Privacy

Even though this Policy applies in general to the NBS website, other declarations related to specific navigation points on this website may be necessary when we provide you with information about the website itself or with a specific declaration about the observance of privacy on the website (a “Website Privacy Declaration”) as published here. Each individual declaration or Website Privacy Declaration supplements and alters this Policy, but only in regard to navigation on the NBS website where it is published.

Your Consent

When you use the NBS website or provide us with personal data, you are authorizing its capture, use and disclosure as described in this Policy and any Privacy Declaration of this country or website.

CIf you do not approve of the capture, use and disclosure of your personal data as described herein (or in applicable Privacy Declarations of this country or website), do not use the NBS website.

Restrictions on the Capture, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

As stipulated by applicable legislation, when NBS captures personal data on its website it is required to:

  • notify in advance in an adequate manner all forms of utilization for this data: its capture, use, disclosure and transfer may only be done only with your consent, which may be implicit depending on the sensitivity of the personal data, legal requirements and other factors; and your personal data can be captured only for specific limited purposes. The data that we capture will be sufficiently relevant and will not be used for any other purpose other than those originally stated;

  • process your personal data in a manner consistent with the originally stated purposes or those which have received subsequent consent;

  • adopt all the commercially justifiable steps to assure that your personal data is accurate and complete in relation to the stated purposes, and when necessary, updated.;

  • nnot use your personal data for direct marketing without giving you the opportunity to "refuse" this; and

  • to undertake all appropriate measures by contract or another form to adequately protect your personal data when it is disclosed to third parties or transferred to other countries, including within NBS.

Information Captured on NBS Websites and How it May be Used

When you access and use an NBS website, there are 3 possible ways in which your data may be captured:

1. Information which is sent by your Web Browser

NBS captures the information that is automatically sent by your web browser. This information generally includes the IP address of your provider, the name of your operating system (like Macintosh® or Windows®) and the name and version of your browser (like Internet Explorer® or Netscape®). The information that we receive depends on the configurations of your web browser. If you want to find out more about this, verify which information your web browser sends and how you can alter its configuration.

The information provided by the browser does not identify you personally. We use this information to improve our websites and make them more compatible with the technology used by our internet visitors.

2. Information Captured through Placing a "Cookie" on your Computer

NBS can obtain your personal data by installing an “identifier” on your computer’s hard drive. This identifier is known as a "cookie."

NBS’s website uses "session cookies". A session cookie is used to identify your computer with exclusive characters generated by the computer when you visit our website. Session cookies don’t identify you personally and expire soon after you close your browser. We use session cookies to gather statistical data about how visitors use our website – which pages they visit, which links they use, and how much time they spend on each page. We analyze the data (known as clickstream data – a sequence of clicks) in a statistical manner to better understand the interests and needs of our visitors and to improve the content and functionality of our websites.

If you don’t want to receive cookies, you can configure your browser to reject them or send an alert every time a cookie’s about to be placed on your computer. Even though you’re not required to accept cookies when you visit the NBS website, some website functionality may not be available to you if you reject them.

3. Information Provided of Your Own Accord

NBS captures information that you provide of your own accord when you use the NBS website such as, for example, the information you provide when you want to receive message alerts, or when you respond to a survey, or when you ask us questions, or send us feedback by email. In many instances, this is personal information.

NBS uses this information for the same purpose that you gave it. For example, if you send us your email to receive message alerts, we use this information to deliver your messages as requested.

Besides this, NBS can use the information collected for the following purposes: (i) to optimize the use and interactive experience of navigating through the website; (ii) to prepare general statistics; (iii) to respond to user questions and requests; (iv) to perform communications or relationship marketing campaigns; (v) to communicate with users to give them information on products, services and promotions; and (vi) in relation to information about minors (ages 13 or younger), this information is used for educational purposes.

The Sharing of Personal Data

Even if it collects personal data, NBS will not sell this information to direct mailing organizations without your express consent.

NBS can share your personal data with its other commercial units.

When it does, these units will use the data in a way that is consistent with the purposes for which the data was originally received (or for which consent was subsequently given) and only in the manner permitted under this Policy, the Privacy Declarations applicable in Brazil or on this website, and under all the applicable laws relating to the privacy of data.

NBS can also share your personal data with third parties hired to provide support services. These third parties are required to use the personal data that we share only to provide services in our name and they must treat this personal data in a strictly confidential manner.

Under certain limited circumstances, we may share or transfer personal data to unaffiliated third parties. For example, we may furnish personal data to third parties: (i) by their request; (ii) to comply with legal requirements or judicial orders; (iii) to investigate a possible crime, like identity theft; (iv) when related to the sale, purchase, merging of, reorganization of, liquidation of, or dissolution of NBS or a business unit of NBS; or (v) under similar circumstances. In an event of this nature, we will take the appropriate steps to protect your personal data.

The NBS website also allows you to make choices in terms of what kinds of personal data you wish to disclose and/or transfer. In most cases, we ask that you indicate your choices at the time and on the page on which you have provided your personal data.

Personal Data Security

Your personal data is, in general, housed in NBS databases or maintained by service providers who may be located in Brazil and/or abroad.

NBS employs appropriate devices to safeguard the secrecy, security and integrity of your personal data. Even though we use security measures that help protect your personal data from unauthorized disclosure, improper use or alteration, like all computer networks linked to the internet we cannot guarantee the security of information provided over the internet and we cannot be held responsible for breaches of security that fall outside our reasonable control.

Links to Third Party Websites

NBS’s website may contain links to other websites that are not operated by NBS. These links are provided as a service and they do not imply our endorsement of their activities or their content, nor any association with those who run them. NBS does not control these websites and is not responsible for their content, security or privacy policies. We recommend that you examine the privacy policies of the websites that you visit before using them or providing your personal data.

Access to Personal Data

You can examine, correct and update the personal data that you have provided using feedback mechanisms on NBS’s website or by email at imprensa@nobullshit.com.br
